Copenhagen snapshots

I spent last weekend in Copenhagen, for the christening of my little nephew. This is such a great city and I love all the art galleries, furniture shops and beautiful designer boutiques that they have here. What I enjoy the most is just observing all these great places and getting inspiration from all the cool designs that are on display. (Although I would enjoy to bring back home a couple of pieces, or a dozen!)  Especially now that our new flat is all decked out in stylish and fresh scandinavian designs, I felt that every piece of furniture, lamps and decorations in these Danish shops would be perfect additions to our home. Unfortunately our suitcases prevented us from bringing back any of these treasures. We only had space for a few Christmas decorations this time. Also the architecture and the parks here are beautiful. It´s so enjoyable to go for walks in this city. As you can see in the pictures above, I really liked the botanical gardens in Kongen's Have. I can´t wait to back in Spring and see it all as it starts to blossom.
My sister and her husband have the coolest flat in the centre of Copenhagen, which also acts as a showroom and I always find their home so inspiring. A few of the photos above are from their super chic place.

All photos were taken with my good old iPhone.

As It Gets Darker

Black and white memories from this summer

The Golden Days

Even though autumn is coming to an end and the leaves keep falling off the trees as well as the hours of daylight get shorter and shorter for each day, we still are lucky enough to have some beautiful and sunny days left, before winter takes over.
We recently bought a new car and have been on little escapades every weekend on the nearby forest roads. As you know, I have a very serious car obsession and for some reason I always spot these unique beauties when I go on my roadtrips. This time I was overjoyed to discover to amazing Porsches taking a rest on the side of the road, looking out on the sunlight woods. There nothing I like better than to photograph cars out in nature, I just love the contrast between these powerful machines and those trees basking in the golden light.
I've been leaving some subtle hints on Facebook and Instagram about this new photo project that I've finally gotten the opportunity to start on. It's an idea I've had for a long time and I'm very excited about it. And of course it involves cars.
I'll give you a more detailed description very soon!

The Best Kind Of Quiet

My favourite places are usually by the water.
And exploring abandoned places are always so fascinating, I'm intrigued by all the memories that still lie around in the air and I always feel like I'm an intruder, disturbing a place that has fallen asleep many years ago and that is slowly starting to stir, awakened by my unwanted and curious presence.

All photos are taken in the South of Norway.

Grå fjell

Taken from Reinebringen mountaintop.
Now that I'm back from my amazing holiday in Lofoten, and I have access to internet and my computer,  I'm going through all the photos that I took with my cameras. And this is the first one that I've developed.
In the meantime you can enjoy a little visual diary with iPhone photos from the past week, in the posts below.

Polaroid memories

Last days

Our last days here up in the north, where spent in Henningsvær. This is a pittoresque little Lofoten town. It was also a lot more touristy than the other places we visited. There are more shops, little cafés and restaurants by the water here, as well as lots of place to camp, go mountain climbing and a very nice and big sandy beach. It's very nice to just walk around here and look at all these little wooden tree houses and explore the coastline.

But what I liked best here was their unique art gallery. It's inside a restored kaviar factory with a beautiful view. Now called Kavi Fac Ory. I actually wish I could live in that building, it was the exact model of what my dreamhouse would look like. I'm seriously obsessed with that place now.

The best part with this gallery was the photo exhibition they had on the 2nd floor. It was by the very talented Rune Johansen who has this amazing way of seeing beauty in the simplest things. His photos of ordinary people and their homes and belongings are so inspiring and wonderful to look at. They really had a great display in this gallery with big square windows lighting up the room as well as offering you a panoramic view of the sea and those huge jagged mountaintops. Leaving this place I'm determined to someday have a similar spectacular exhibition of my photographs.
