Snapshots - Cars & Creatures

Here are some snapshots that I found on my old mobile phone.
All photos have been taken some time during 2011, and bring back good memories. And especially on days when I haven't got my camera with me, it's good to have captured those special sights that one can encounter on a normal day. Also I'm obsessed with vintage cars, so each time I spot one, I have to take a photo.
The pretty dog in the photos, belongs to my mentor and favorite photographer - Lars Botten.
He's recently started an amazing photo diary, take a look here.

Spring Break

More photos of my lovely elderly couples in the south.

La Playa

More memories from my trip by the sea. I've always been fascinated by water and love being at the beach and can watch the waves for hours. Few things put me in a better mood than being in the water and swimming. As you can see I'm not the only one. One thing I liked doing in the morning, before hitting the sunbeds on the beach, was to walk along the boardwalk. Here I always found these charming little couples to photograph, who sat in the sun, overlooking the vast ocean and enjoying life.

Ida

A few weeks ago, I took pictures of the very pretty Ida. I love her cool hairstyle and how naturally beautiful she is. It's always fun to work with people who inspire you. As usual I'm playing around with the lights and shadows and we shot all the photos in my apartment, where I had built a little studio for the occasion.
Music inspiration: I like having background music when I'm taking pictures. So I played tunes from the music site etmusiquepourtous, which is one of my favorites and Liana's blog has always a great playlist that I often listen to when working.

Desert Island

I've recently returned from a new trip. A week full of sunshine, days at the beach and swimming in huge waves of the Atlantic ocean was exactly what I needed after the long Scandinavian winter. The days were mostly spent leisuring on the beach, and searching for gourmet restaurants on the island. We also went on a roadtrip exploring vulcanic landskapes, as well as bicycling from one little village to another up in the mountains. So I have a great variety of pictures from the different places we saw to show you.

More photos are on the way, I just need to organise and select from over 1000 photos on my computer!

The Originals - At The Record Store

Photo Documentary

I'm very fascinated by "ordinary" people and how unique they can be. How people spend their days - the everyday life. So lately I've been interested in photographing "real" people in their own surroundings and documenting their daily life. Listening to their stories and finding out what's important to them is something I feel very rewarding. I'm usually lucky when going on these little expeditions and somehow always end up finding quite original characters.

While working on a short-film a few weeks ago, I discoved this charming little antique store in my neighbourhood. The owner was a very interesting man with a remarkable knowledge regarding music, as well as a great interest in history. He has been collecting antique and original artifacts as well as old records for decades. Two years ago, he decided to open this little shop, so others could buy and enjoy these special items he has collected over the past 30 years. When you enter the store, you enter his world. He always has some good tunes playing in the background and has a story to tell, for everything that's displayed on the shelves.

I think simplicity has a vulnerable as well as beautiful side, that we nowadys so easily fail to notice. And people that might seem very ordinary, tend to be quite the original if one takes the time to get to know them.

Here are the photos I took during the days I was filming.
